1 John 3:1 (The Message)

"What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we're called children of God! That's who we really are. But that's also why the world doesn't recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he's up to."

So often I think we get into relationships and venture out to find someone who will accept us for who we are and tell us who we are- then our identity gets caught up in the relationship we are in. We find ourselves in the relationships that we are in instead of knowing who we are first. This is such an important thing because if that relationship dies and your identity was in that relationship, you end up loosing who you are. Everything on this earth will fail us, even if you do find that 'soul mate' who fulfills who you are- we don't live forever. You should never go into a relationship trying to gain something. It should just be a time where you can share a love in Christ with someone. God gives us all that we need, we should never have to go searching for things in other people- we need to first gain all that we are in Christ before we pursue a relationship with anyone else.
Doing that will only help grow your relationship with your spouse, it will help with communication, expectations, and it will just give a bond that is so much deeper than if you were constantly expecting things from each other!
Mmmmmm :) Thats my thoughts for the day!

Until Next Time-
